Thunderbird and MS Outlook Email Configuration
Autoconfiguration (Thunderbird) and Autodiscovery (Outlook) have been setup for the Email server: simply select "New Account", enter the email address and the password, and the remaining settings should be done for you automatically.If this does not work for you:
1. Let me know!
2. use the settings from "Configurations for Other Email Clients" (below) to setup your account.
iPhone and iPad Email Configuration
iOS systems have no autoconfiguration. As an alternative, below is a form to auto-generate an iOS Configuration Profile and download it: Enter your name as you wish it to appear in your emails, your email address, and then click "Download Profile". Your iPhone/iPad will start the installation and ask you for the account password. After that your email will be configured.Notes: (1) The profile creates an IMAP account. (2) An account installed via profile can only be deleted via profile management. You can find that here: Settings >> General >> Profile (near the end of the page)
Configurations for Other Email Clients
Other Email clients normally allow you to make these settings "by hand". softwareschmiede-herndon.de supports all the standard protocol / port configurations shown below. Note that there is a difference for the user between IMAP and POP3: IMAP leaves all your email on the server, so you can access your email from different computers/devices as needed ; POP3 retrieves the email to your computer, deleting the server copy and making it impossible to access old emails from another device. IMAP is usually preferred for flexibility: most people like to access email from their desktop or their mobile without worry.
